Why choose us

Why families choose Epic Senior Care

Families across Johnson County choose a small home for a reason a large building cannot answer: their mother stops being one of many.

  • A house, not an institution

A home on a residential street, with a front door and a kitchen. No long corridors, no cafeteria trays, no nurses’ station at the end of the hall.

  • Care from people who know the person

A small household means the same faces every day — so staff notice when someone eats less than usual or is having a good day.

  • Someone is awake all night

Not on call, and not asleep in a back room. Nights are when falls happen, so somebody is up and expecting to be needed.

  • Licensed and inspected by Kansas

Home Plus homes are licensed and surveyed by KDADS. Ask us for our licence and our latest survey — ask that of every home you visit.

Getting started

Four steps, and none of them commit you to anything

  1. Call or send a message

Tell us what is happening. If we are not the right fit we will say so, and point you somewhere better.

  2. Come and see the house

About half an hour, seven days a week by appointment. Bring the person who would live here.

  3. We assess and quote in writing

An assessment of what care is actually needed, then a written rate. No deposit is taken to have a conversation.

  4. Move in, with a plan

A written care plan before the first night, and a call from us at the end of the first day.

Inside the home

Look around before you visit

A house you can walk end to end in under a minute, not a wing off a corridor. This is what your mother would actually be living in.

A filmed walk-through

Photographs only go so far. A short video shows the things families actually ask about — how far the bathroom is from the bed, how much light the rooms get, how loud the house is in the afternoon.

It is being filmed now. Until it is here, call and we will walk you round it room by room on the phone, or come and see it in person.

  • Medication management with nursing oversight
  • Laundry, housekeeping and linens

  • Staff on duty around the clock, awake overnight

Billed separately

  • Prescriptions and medical supplies
  • Doctor, therapy and hospice services brought in from outside
  • Personal items, haircuts and private transport

How families pay

Most pay privately or from a long-term care insurance policy. Veterans and surviving spouses may qualify for VA Aid & Attendance. Ask us about the Kansas HCBS Frail Elderly waiver. Medicare does not pay for Home Plus care — it is licensed by the state, not certified by Medicare, and anyone telling you otherwise is mistaken.

Current rates: call (913) 600-5539 and we will quote you in writing after an assessment, with no obligation.
